Position:  FACJ2019-03  Entry-Level Design Engineer

Frontier Aerospace Corporation is seeking entry-level design engineers (0-2 years experience) to support various design and development activities primarily focused on rocket engine propulsion components and assemblies.  Candidates must possess the right mix of technical, teamwork, and decision-making skills to enable them to execute activities across one or more simultaneous projects.  The ability to communicate effectively with all key stakeholders, including colleagues, customers, managers, suppliers, subcontractors, and partner organizations is also required.

General Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship

  • B.S. or higher in Aerospace, Mechanical, or similar engineering discipline

  • Creo Parametric modeling and drawing knowledge


  • Relevant internship experience

  • Experience with using PTC Windchill for CAD data management

Specific duties include:

  • Modeling 3D parts and 3D assemblies using Creo Parametric to meet ASME Y14.41 standards

  • Creating drawings using Creo Parametric to meet ASME Y14.5 standards

  • Understanding and applying 3D parametric modeling best-practices in adherence with company standards

  • Understanding and applying geometric tolerancing and dimensioning controls to achieve desired stack-up tolerance

  • Accurately reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports

  • Applying basic engineering principals and analysis methods in the conceptualizing and detailed design of components 

  • Effectively documenting work for design reviews, peer reviews, and for use as design templates

  • Effectively communicating with other team members, management, suppliers and customers

  • Creating conceptual layouts of propulsion systems and other systems for proposals and preliminary designs

  • Writing specifications and work instructions

  • Working effectively with suppliers to purchase components, monitor part fabrication, and validate part quality

Full-Time Position

Compensation: $68,000 to $73,000 Annually
