Position:  FACJ2019-02  Senior Structural Analyst

Frontier Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Senior Structural Analyst to support the design and development of rocket engine propulsion components and assemblies to meet functional and programmatic requirements. Candidates must possess the right technical skills and have effective planning, organization, and decision making skills enabling them to execute activities across one or more simultaneous projects. The ability to communicate effectively with all key stakeholders, including colleagues, customers, managers, suppliers, subcontractors, and partner organizations is also required.

Full-Time Position

Compensation: $95,000 to $115,000 Annually

General Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship

  • B.S. or higher in Aerospace, Mechanical, or similar engineering discipline

  • 10+ years of relevant experience

Desired:

  • Strong knowledge of NASA-STD-5012B, Strength and life assessment for liquid-fueled space propulsion system engines

  • Advanced proficiency with finite element methods including nonlinear static, thermal, and dynamic analyses

  • Analysis and design of flight vehicle structures

  • Security clearance

Specific duties include:

  • Supports development of system design concepts and evaluation of system characteristics including system trade studies, preliminary designs, and detailed designs

  • Formulating, analyzing, and selecting appropriate analysis approaches consistent with the fidelity of results required

  • Determining margins of safety for test and flight hardware using hand-calculations and/or general-purpose or specialized analysis tools

  • Performing static, thermal, dynamic, and modal analysis of rocket propulsion systems and rocket engine components

  • Performing fatigue and fracture analyses to determine durability and damage tolerance

  • Summarizing analysis approaches and results for consumption by non-analysts

  • Documenting detailed analysis reports for consumption by peers and other reviewers

  • Using PTC Creo Parametric CAD system and add-on analysis software

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports to develop analysis models

  • Collaborating on writing, submitting, and presenting technical white papers at industry conferences with strict adherence to guidelines protecting company intellectual property and national security interests

  • Planning and driving execution of analysis projects to meet schedule and budget constraints

  • Identifying risks and developing risk mitigation strategies and programs that lead to the successful execution of analysis projects

  • Effectively communicating with stakeholders, including customers, to provide regular status updates, technical coordination, expectation setting, and requirements management
